Ubivox

Ubivox is our flagship project and the culmination of our efforts to make the best newsletter management system today. Ubivox is actually the progeny of eBrev (danish for “eLetter”), our first attempt at creating a web application for newsletter management.
eBrev was a great success but ended up being limited by bad architecture decisions. A lot of lessons learned, and starting from scratch — enter Ubivox.
Ubivox is based on our experiences from creating and operating a successful web application with thousands of users. And has quickly become a great success, with praises from our users on a daily basis.
In order to give you some idea of what Ubivox can do, here are some of the key features:
- Advanced mail merging and segmentation
- Fast delivery through scalable mail engine
- E-mail courses
- WYSIWYG editor specialized for newsletters
- Detailed statistics
- Bounce handling
- Abuse handling systems for ISP feedback loops
Furthermore Ubivox contains a huge set of business/operations features for the administrators to support and operate the application.
Ubivox was built almost from scratch by GMTA — almost in the sense that we do use a lot of frameworks and libraries to solve some of our problems. Here are some of the software libraries and applications in use by Ubivox:
- Python
- Django
- Postfix
- PostgreSQL
- jQuery
- jQuery UI
We believe that credit should be given where credit is due, and credit is certainly due here. Without these great software projects, it would have been a lot more difficult to accomplish something like Ubivox.
You can read a lot more about Ubivox on the Ubivox website.
